Hello! My Friend!

I am Aviva Tu, a violinist and pianist based in the beautiful town of Eureka Springs, NW Arkansas. My musical journey began at the age of four with piano, followed by violin at age five. With a lifelong passion for music, I bring elegance, emotion, and artistry to weddings and special events through live violin and piano performances

Music Journey

My journey as a musician began with a major life change. When my father moved to Shanghai to establish his second printing factory, I moved with him. While he built his new business, I began building my own foundation in music at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music.

My years at the conservatory were transformative. It was almost like a military academy for musicians—an environment built on discipline, dedication, and excellence. Every day was structured around practice, and music was not simply a passion; it was a commitment. I practiced between five and eight hours a day, learning the value of consistency, perseverance, and the pursuit of mastery. I spent four years focusing on violin before transitioning to piano for another three years, laying the foundation that would eventually lead me toward a career as a professional musician.

After my time in Shanghai, I moved to Taiwan to complete my final year of high school and prepare for the national college entrance examination. Entering college opened a new chapter of exploration and growth. During my freshman year, I immersed myself in academics and music, while continuing to challenge myself as a performer. Although violin was my secondary instrument and piano was my primary, I placed second in the music department’s violin competition. Recognizing my dedication and ability, my professor encouraged me to pursue a double major in both piano and violin.

Beginning my sophomore year, I officially became a double major, continuing to develop as both a pianist and violinist. That same year, I won first place in the Hualien City Music Competition and had the honor of representing Hualien in the National Music Competition.

College became a time of discovery—a place where I expanded beyond my primary instruments and explored the many possibilities within music. While maintaining the demanding schedule of a double major, I performed in a variety of ensembles, including orchestra, wind ensemble, and jazz band. I served as concertmaster of the orchestra, played percussion and piano in the wind ensemble, and performed bass in the jazz band. These experiences broadened my understanding of music, taught me how to collaborate with different musicians, and shaped the versatile performer I am today.

Beyond music, I embraced opportunities to grow as a leader and educator. I served as vice president of the student association and participated in campus activities, including a cheerleading competition that became a memorable part of my college experience. During this time, I also began teaching—leading group violin classes and offering private lessons in both violin and piano. Looking back, I realize those early teaching experiences planted the seeds for my future teaching studio and my passion for helping others discover the joy and beauty of music.

Every chapter of my journey—from the discipline of the Shanghai Conservatory, to the exploration of college, to my first steps as an educator—has shaped not only the musician I am today, but also the way I connect with audiences and students. Music has always been more than performance; it has been a lifelong journey of growth, creativity, and connection.

Weddings

Over the years, music has brought me to some of life’s most meaningful celebrations—especially weddings. As a professional wedding musician, violinist, and pianist, I specialize in creating elegant and heartfelt musical experiences that reflect each couple’s unique love story. From the timeless beauty of Thorncrown Chapel in Eureka Springs to intimate ceremonies and destination weddings throughout Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Missouri, I bring a personalized approach to every event.

Whether providing a romantic violin melody as you walk down the aisle, a graceful piano prelude as guests arrive, or a memorable soundtrack for your special celebration, my goal is to create an atmosphere filled with beauty, emotion, and connection. Every wedding is a once-in-a-lifetime moment, and I feel honored to use music to help transform those moments into lasting memories.
